MAking a Difference

I ran across a parent of a student I had years ago.. It was very odd the way we met, but she said something to me that day that made a difference to me. Years ago I had a special needs student that struggled with his emotions. He had a hard time keeping his anger under control. The parent of this student happened to be in the building for a meeting and witnessed one his outbursts. I happened to be passing by and worked with the boy to back his contriol, never knowing the parent was watching. Some 20 years later when I happened upon this parent, she reminded me of this and t hinked me so much for havingthe compassion for her son that many others didn't have. IT touched me deeply and reminded me of how much difference a teacher can make in the life of not only a child, but teir family as well.
